Any other people in their mid-30's (or adulthood) going back to school? Or maybe are already in school? Well, Goof is about to begin his new journey. OMG! laugh

It is exciting, but also scary. But I will say that I have noticed that alot of adults are going back to school. I don't know if they are about to invest seven years to it like myself, but they are going back to (more than likely) start a new career or to help themselves in there current one.

So, is anyone else in this boat? How do you feel about it?

I am planning on going back to school to get certified to be a cna or go into nursing, I have the time for it, it is scary but in my opinion there is nothing wrong with wanting to improve your knowledge so you can have a better life.

<<<< He is. How do I feel about it? Well, the last time I was in college, I was 27. That's when I graduated with associate in science. Now I'm gonna be 35 in a few months, but I do recall seeing 40-50-60 year olds in my class so I don't feel too self conscious about my age yet.

I'm 44 and almost done!

Summer break is now but I only have 6 units left of graduate work.

Don't worry about feeling older than anyone. The gamut is so far in age that we all blend in the crowd.

Watch those frat parties though! *whew* Keg stands aren't what they used to be and Beer Pong is brutal! drinks

And derail my progress??? Never!!!! laugh laugh

Good thing about getting your BSN is that you can work as an RN and do it online. Takes a year to do. Now, the Master's program? Oh man. That is gonna be where Goof has an IV of Red Bull in him.laugh laugh

LOL! Hey, I went and sat in and participated in some nursing classes, and I found out that I wanna do it. Did my research and now Goof is doing something he NEVER thought he would. Found out I was pretty smart too, and quick to react. HAHAHA!

I already have the five colleges that I will apply to for my Masters. So I have thought this all through and all. I'm ready for it.

That's cool Silver about your two daughters and granddaughter. Love it when people go for what they want.

it SHOULD be scary, of course, you`ll have alot of work to do. i know ppl in their 40`s going this route out of necessity, the job market being what it is. Bravo, and best of luck!

Okay. I also need data on these locations. These are the five schools I want to go to for my Masters.

1. USC (LA)- Yes. Southern Cal is my top choice.
2. U of Michigan (Ann Arbor)
3. U of Tennessee (Knoxville)
4. U of South Florida (Tampa) (I don't need data here, lol)
5. U of Maryland (Baltimore)

Isn`t the data online somewhere?

Let me clarify. I meant to know what people (who live in these areas) think of it. That's all. I mean, the schools always build up there locations. I'm sure at USC, they say "The weather is awesome. Don't mind the drive by shootings though. It's all a myth".laugh laugh

2. Michigan is a good choice to go too school, terrible choice for working.
3. Don't have a ****ing clue.
4. Good, cause I can't help you here anyway.
5. Maryland has good schools, depending on what you study it also can provide awesome occupations choices.

--On the plus side, nursing jobs are always going to be in demand.
