The mind is often perpetually unforgiving.

What unselfconscious tips can you give to others to help improve their recovery time 'moving on'?

When you watch a movie. Do you like watching the end over and over and over, or do you prefer to watch a entire movie and be able to enjoy the ending?

I prefer the entire movie myself. Even the endings are good as long as you just watch them once = )

To get a grip and if all else fails - counseling.

Oh, and they can write to their parents and “thank” them for creating a needy adult. slaphead

Recall ALL that you previously LOVED to do ...

And, fill your days w/ doing those things ...

Distraction therapy ... Ya end up processing so gently and much more infrequently ...

I love walks, films, comedy, aroma baths, the river/oceans, UPLIFTING music/concerts, books ...

Sometimes, ya gotta throw in the depressing tunes, so ya can grieve ... Purge it out w/ tears ... flowerforyou

Distraction IS meditation in action ...

Catch yourself recalling something toxifying ... imprisoning ...

... And GENTLY have your mind walk away to a pleasant thought mantra ...

I call it leaving the haunted parlours w/in your inner museum hallways ...

Go look at the beautiful paintings ...

What? laugh I was neither demeaning or slanderous. Since you were not speaking of you then who am I slandering? The arbitrary people you refer to as "others"?

You asked a general question: you only refer to "others" and not yourself.

If you had said, "I need advice" my comments would have been more sensitive.

I'm sorry you feel offended but I was not referring to you per the audience you addressed in your topic.

I find it ironic that thread after thread I look at in this section has advice telling people to "move on."

And yet very few people have methods to share in order to make this happen.

Oh well, as long as it looks good in writing I suppose. indifferent

It was still a snooty and unpleasantly harsh comment, no matter who it was referring to. frown
