And That is really what is most important.

The disagreements among christians are on minor unimportant stuff.

In my experience, NO they don't. It doesn't matter anyway. But then, other Christians will just say... "They are not true Christians."

It useless to worry about what other people believe. The Jews have based their religion on the old testament for years and they claim that it has been altered in favor of Christianity.

The Old testament and the New testament are not the same religion. They just don't go together. The old God of the Jews is not the new God of Jesus. No matter how much you believe that, it just doesn't fly.

Let people love and worship their idea of God and Jesus any way they want and stop telling them they are wrong or that they are not Christians.

Stop worrying about that. You have no control over other people and you can't tell them what to do, what to believe or what to call themselves.

Just LET IT GO.

According to the Catholic Church, when protestants separated from them, all protestants were heretics. ALL OF THEM. That means that if you were not Catholic, you were a heretic.

Being a heretic is not a dirty word. It was used to describe anyone who disagreed or departed from the Catholic Church. If you were not a heretic you were a Catholic.

Frankly I am proud to be a heretic.

The old testament and the new testament DO NOT FIT TOGETHER. That is my opinion. You are free to have any opinion you want.

I think they are both worthless anyway if they do nothing but set people against each other. Let go of the Bible and just embrace each other. Stop fighting over dogma and details. You have no way of knowing who is right and who is wrong or how wrong or right anyone is.

And NONE OF IT MATTERS ANYWAY if you don't have love and acceptance in your heart for others.

All three major Abrahamic religions, (Jewish, Islam and Christianity) are at each other's throats constantly.)

The Bible has done NOTHING to bring peace or enlightenment to the people of the world. Even Christians or what ever you call yourselves can't get along and accept each other.

STOP TRYING TO BRAIN FEED EACH OTHER WITH YOUR DOGMA.

STOP PREACHING.

And if we did that, what would be the purpose of this forum? This forum isn't for "worshiping" God persay. It is a place to discuss our different beliefs. If we all had the exact same belief, what would there be to discuss? If you do not wish to hear of other people's beliefs and only wish to speak about your belief, they have forums for specific beliefs. But this is the GENERAL Religion forum for AAALLL beliefs. So if you do no wish to read about and or discuss with AAAALLLL different beliefs, I would truly suggest staying out of this forum.

Not trying to run you off or anything, only shedding light on some form of confusion of what forum this is.

I agree with this wholeheartedly. This kitchen is hot, get out if you dont like heat. The heat is the heat of purpose, just as in cooking to get what you want sometimes takes effort, if understanding another persons beliefs and arguing in favor or against isn't something you like, then this forum is probably not for you.

I think the distinguishing factor is objective truth. If an argument does not rest on a set of demonstrable facts then it isn't compelling.

Back and forth, well you are not a real Christian, serves no purpose. If you can illustrate your points based in some demonstrable facts, history, scholarship, reason, logic, traditions that can be sourced ect, then your having a productive conversation.

What I have posted here is simply a suggestion.

But if you enjoy preaching and debating and it helps you to grow then it is a good thing for you.

I have learned that it is a useless pursuit for two people so dead set in their own convictions to continue to preach at each other as if they each are 100% convinced that they are right and the other person is wrong.

They believe they are "teaching" the other person what the truth is. They have no intention of considering that their point of view might be wrong. They are not learning anything from each other, they are just causing hard feelings or playing games.

That is why I suggest that you

Again, we're not "preaching". Not the believers, not the non-believers. Yes we are 100% convinced in all our different beliefs, but that doesn't mean you can't be kind and the respect to understand this and respect their belief, even if they are not yours. It is 100% impossible to convert any person over the internet, so why would one try? Again, we're all just here sharing and discussing our beliefs and differences in a kind respectful way.

You can say that you are NOT PREACHING a million billions times Cowboy, but preaching is preaching and you and Morningsong both preach!

Preaching is when you state your case as if it is the gospel truth and as if you are the teacher of that truth. THAT IS NOT DISCUSSING.

Preaching is when you are 100% convinced that you are right and the other person is wrong and everything they tell you that is different from what you believe is wrong and so you don't listen or even consider their point. You just come back and disagree and correct them as if you are teaching them how wrong they are or how much they just don't listen or understand.



I think you should ask yourself that question. You have shown over and over that you don't listen or even consider what anyone else thinks, you simply want to inflict your beliefs on them as if they are 100% true.

You are not a teacher, you are not a preacher, you are not even a student. I don't understand why you continue. What is your motivation? What is your purpose? You don't seem to learn anything new, you just keep espousing your own world view and posting scripture at people in the hope someone will agree with your interpretations. So what do you get out of doing that?

You must be getting something out of it.

I don't respect other people's beliefs. I only respect them and their right to think what ever they want to think.

I listen all the time Jeannie. I listen to everyone, including but not limited to Ceriserose, MorningSong, you, and everyone else that posts in this forum. I do consider what others say, speaking of specifically MorningSong again, when she posts something, then I post something that disagrees with what she said, I post them because that are things I know. Again, if they conflict with what another says, all they have to do is share how that conclusion was made, where they get their information of the topic at hand. If what I said was wrong, that's all fine and great. Glad I was shown my error instead of living in error. If what I said thought was right, great I've shown someone else their error. That is all discussing can do, is find truth for oneself, you can NOT show another the truth, only that person can.

Therefore you cannot point out to anyone that they are wrong and they can't point out to you that you are wrong.
