What is with ladies and their profiles "non smoker" non smoker,, what happened to the good old days when everyone smoked,, Humphrey Bogart smoked two packs a day yet he is the most popular leading idol and Casablanca is the highest rated move ever made.Granted he died at age 56 of throat cancer, So much has changed, I remeber when i was you young you could say to to someone hey can i bum a fag and it meant can i borrow a cigarette. Think of all those old movies and gentlemen in front of a firing squad and their last request was never a big steak or sex with a luscious woman, rather they just asked for a cigarette.. My piece on smoking,,,,, What is romantic about being a widow when the best half of life starts? You kind of make the case for the other side all by yourself. It is not so much just the current costs of smaking but the cost later. Who wants to be a prisoner of and oxygen tube, dealing with chemo, premature strokes, other related catestrophic medical expenses, and early onset dementia because some guy wants to deleude himself there is anything sexy about having a cigarette hanging out of his mouth dripping ashes all over the place not mention costing enough to practially make a car payment is you are any kind of serious smoker. I just got to wonder about a guy who loves haveing a cigarette more than he likes getting laid; because now days that is pretty much what it comes down to when you look at how seriously his odds for romance are cut down if he smokes. I suppose i could argue ,, what good is getting laid if you cant have that smoke after,,

I suppose i could argue ,, what good is getting laid if you cant have that smoke after,, if it's all about the smoke after.. why even bother with sex as foreplay.. just light 'er up!

I guess you ladies should have been with me on Sunday. We had our arena here full of Firefighters that were doing a charity party for poor families. They were all dressed in their number one uniforms and were the nicest guys with the biggest hearts that you could ever meet.

Humm coming from and ex smoker of 10 years. Was up to 3 packs a day yeah I said 3 packs, sure a pack burned up a day. I worked in a office and was allowed to smoke in there. By the way I was the only one in the office besides the owner that smoked too. Since I quit I have dated smokers and non smokers. With me I don't care if they smoke or not. What I let them know from the beginning. No smoking in my house or my car. And if you have to have a cig while in your house be considerate and do not smoke it in the bedroom. To me they smoke in the bedroom when I'm in there they will not last long. It just shows they don't have respect for others. Therefore smoking does not bother me as long as you are considerate around the one your with. Heck I go out to eat and normally sit at the bar. Places around me let you smoke at the bar. But I sit there due to I would rather sit there then in a booth alone. At least there I have someone to talk to. As long as they don't blow it in my face I can handle it... But I can understand those that don't like to be around smokers either.

I wasn't really aware that not smoking was becoming so popular. The news never reported it for sure. . Well, I grew up having to watch my grandad slowly die from lung cancer. It takes it's time to kill you, but it still will. I remember seeing him with rattlesnake-type breathing. Sounded like he had a babies rattle in his throat. And him being constantly attached to an oxygen tank in his house. He ended up in a wheelchair. Not sure if he always had the energy to go anywhere. Not so fun, when you become what you smoked. It really gave me the insight of what cigarettes can do. It made my mum give up smoking. I felt helpless for him, but akin to do much, as only his oxygen mask could help. Once you see stuff happen to others, it's like a warning for you not to do the same.

Just to clear the air (no pun intended) I dont endorse smoking , it's filthy habit and expensive too, I'm no way epressing that anyone should start or continue to smoke and my sympathies to you for grandad, However, my story, my uncle, the kind of man that if met him at the cashout line at your local grocery store, his smile would brighten up your day,died of lung cancer , never smoked a cigarette in his life, a friend who worked for 25 years for photograpy corporation in totally air clean enviroment , shortly after his retirement he was diagnosed with emphozima and shortly after with lung cancer, again never smoked a cigarette in his life.

true that multiple factors can cause diseases like lung cancer my mom was a heavy smoker her whole life and never had lung or throat cancer but she ended up with a wicked cardiovascular illness many factors cause disease - but smoking is a factor that is a linked variable to many and can only exacerbate anything pre-existing or genetic that you might have

Sorry to hear about your grandad. I was having breathing and excessive coughing problems when I was about 19. My doctor told me the cause was cigarette smoke as I had a black spot on my lung. Funny thing is I have never touched a cigarette in my life either; however I hung around a lot of smokers. So, back in the 80s I knew second hand smoke was dangerous.

I am sure he would not want to do that either.

I am sure he would not want to do that either. I wouldn't date a smoker but I have frinds that smoke. I make them smoke outside my house even at -40. LOL

I won't date a smoker, use to and he smelled awful. Plus they get upset if you ask them not to smoke in your house or your car...I don't smoke so why would I let someone smoke in my place? Have you read what second hand smoke can do? I have COPD thanks to my parents who both smoked. Plus my father passed away from cancer due to smoking. I guess you have to sit back and really think about things, is smoking really worth it??? ....NOT GOOD!!!!

I guess you have to sit back and really think about things, is smoking really worth it??? ....NOT GOOD!!!! I am sorry that you are suffering from COPD because of second smoke. I was lucky that my doctor caught my black spot early as the military we take physicals every year. Honestly; if people want to smoke; buy the smokeless cigarettes.
