The only people I've seen the opposites work for are couples who 10-20 years later take separate vacations. That's not what I would want, but it seems to work for them.

So, I guess it just depends on how little you have in common vs how much of your life activities you expect to do with your partner.

i believe it's true.i've seen too many times where couples that are like each other butt heads,where as couples that are different,seem to find a common ground in disagreements.


of course i haven't been around every couple in this world,so i can't say for certain,so i'm just going by the ones i've been around

Well, the great prophetess Paula Abdul claimed this to be true in her song "Opposite's Attract". So if she said it then it must be true.

It's rare for opposites to attract and stay together I believe... SOOoOooO NO Because there's way to much work through way to much work!

I think sometimes they do. Just depends on the drama, I guess.

i like how people say it wont last, well, the fact is most relationships wont last, if they did those same people wouldn't be here, now would they?

what is "last" anyway. how do you judge if a relationship is successful or not? 6 months, 1 year, 5 years, a lifetime?

I think it depends on what you have that is opposite.

I think a mixture works best.

For me, my partner, is pretty serious and organised. I'm not, but it works for us, one worries the other doesnt, one makes sure that we have everything, the other doesnt. But at the same time, I tend to balance out his sensibleness

BUT, We still enjoy doing the same things, are interested in the same things and if we arnt interested in something ( Like football or whatever you call it and wrestling, then we read a book while the other one watches the stupid show.

Like everything, it depends on the people and being able to accept each other for who they are.

I think sometimes it might look like opposites but for them it's more completing their united whole.

I think opposites attract, they just don't always make it for the long haul. There needs to be the willingness for compromise and acceptance for the attraction to develop into something more substantial.

Yep, they do. Everybody is looking for a something he is missing in order to form perfect couple.

personally I prefer someone on the same page as me.. on equal footing.. similar morals, ideals and values are important to raising a family and remaining best friends with your partner.. some differences are good as they can add spice, but if 2 people are passionate about some of the same things, be it goals, hobbies or tastes.. the couple has a better chance at survival than those who are complete opposites.. but that's just my opinion

too much opposite might be too much attractive .. but how long can they stay together? i guess it gets difficult when the initial attraction is over. so there has to be some similarities and some dissimilarities to balance life.. as it also says too much of evrything is bad
