There are soooooo many fake profiles on this site. My god! Wading thru them is like trying to swim in quicksand.
And ladies, let me tell you....those profiles with only, "Hi!", are you serious?! Stupid. Fake. If there's no
description, nothing talking about you, what would make anyone interested? And what's with all the sideways photos!?
Can no one turn a photo right way up? Come on. I don't expect a reply to every message I drop but, really? I took
the time to complete my profile. Have some taste, people. Fill out a profile, use your REAL photo(and make it recent),
put in a DESCRIPTION and, give yourself a chance! Nuff' said.

Welcome to the world of scammer. If they cannot or will not meet you in person, do not trust them, especially if you are looking for a committed relationship! JMHO it's you're choice but as for myself, it's a huge, possibly unrealistic being put extremely mildly! Better.alone than with someone who, is only playing games with you!

The way I have started to look at it is like this:
After crossing paths with countless fakes, phonies, and scammers,
it makes it that much more pleasurable, when I meet a real, genuine person.
Makes me happy happy happy:banana:

Sorry for using your triple 'happy' Phil.

Kinda funny...when I first got on here about four days into it a gentleman made contact with me...he had no photos but a very reasonable excuse not to...his profile was well written but I felt he was possibly out of my league...he mentioned doing a video chat,..all this online stuff is new to me and I did not know how at the time...next thing I knew he was calling me a fake and a scammer...and poof he was gone...blocked me I think...anyhow moral to my ranting..at first I didn't understand and was a little bummed but several weeks passed and boy did I get it...at least twice a day they say hi..the video chat suggestion is a good way to weed some out...I use it a lot...love the excuses when they decline...especially the ones who use Elvis as their profile pic...lol:laughing:

Amen, all! Is video chat a good way to weed out the scammers from the real though? I mean, a person can post a pic of themselves and, when you video chat with them, it IS that person but, you have no idea where they are or if they're real. You want to believe because, you want to make that connection. But, just how can you trust someone you've never met? In my first week alone, I've met at least three "Fakes". I don't want to waste my time with on-line dating if all my time is going to be spent trying to figure out who is real and who is fake. Ya' know? I just want to meet that special someone. I've no time for all the other foolishness. but, then this is the real world. Oh well.

My computer is from last century and doesn't handle video chats but I can meet you just down the local shopping centre car park, outside the bank. I'll recognize you if you leave your car running with the passenger door open as I exit the bank, don't mind the balaclava.

What? A date doesn't get any more real than this.

I thought when I got on this site it might be a good way to find someone...I have found a couple that are pleasant to chat with...in the "real" world I have met almost as many fake people...let's face it....the only way you find a true person to possibly love is time...its a risk no matter where or how you meet them....good luck to you in finding that special someone for you...I do mean that...

Using the sentence"I Am A Millionaire" in your Profile definitely acts as a Scammer-Magnet!

BTW,how would anyone know by looking at the Profiles who is a Scammer, and who ain't?laugh

And what's with all the sideways photos!?
Can no one turn a photo right way up?

yet my current "power outage" picture seems to raise my profile visits to a higher level ...
just be creative

Now that is what I call a rant.
Is it your time of monthhappy

But seriously though, the sideways photo's do wind me up, for me it just shows me that the person who posted it in their profile is willing to settle for 2nd best and that's not for me.
I mean if you can't even be bothered to put your photo the right way, what chance has anything else in your life got.

That is my rant over:wink:

I get notifications telling me that so and so has added me as a "favorite" and I haven't even talked to them. Not only that when you read the profiles it normally says "Hi". These profiles are awesome!laugh
