DAVID SWEAT- was spotted, TWO miles from the CANADIAN BORDER, near a barn, by Police Sergent JAY COOK. SWEAT was in a clearing & began to run towards a tree line, where he could of easily disappeared. SWEAT was wearing CAMOUFLAGED & not prison garb. Sergent COOK fired,to stop him fleeing & hit SWEAT twice in chest (yesterday) SWEAT was taken into custody, alive & standing, but is NOW in Albany, New York Medical Center & in CRITICAL condition. Police Sergeant Jay Cook is being hailed a hero.  |

This afternoon, reported the prisoner's health has been upgraded, no longer in immediate need of surgery.
Also reported, he won't be returned to the Clinton facility. Any idea where he'll go instead? And under what conditions? Solitary? |

The New York State Department of Corrections said in a statement that three members of the upstate prison's executive team and nine security staff are on "administrative leave" as part of the ongoing review into the jailbreak. It did not offer further details. Steven Racette, the prison superintendent, along with his deputy Stephen Browne, who oversees security, were two of the three executives suspended, a senior New York official with direct knowledge of the matter told NBC News. Convicted murderers Richard Matt and David Sweat used power tools to escape from the maximum-security prison in Dannemora on June 6. The duo were on the lam for three weeks: Matt was shot and killed on Friday while Sweat was shot and wounded two days later. WOWSERS - WOW - WOW - WOW shocked 2OLD2MESDSROUND, WOW.. is right. This Tower (of corruption) is falling quicker than I expected. I REALLY did not expect SWEAT to be captured alive. MATT.. maybe, because he killed for pleasure & probably would of soon, & be recaptured. But SWEAT, though sadistic, thinks he kills when he thinks he. has been wronged, like self preservation. 3 Administration & 8 Security/ Guards... Not enough. I hope SWEAT calls them all out.. There MUST be more & I'm sure a few policial surprises. |

But Cook said he ran towards the tree line (where he would be lost again). I'm SURE I would of fired two shoots also. * He was already found guilty & a previous list of escapes... so not likely to surrender or corporate.. more likely to kill again, then or later* |

I was thinking the same thing about Sweat, the survivor. The Trooper that shot him shot him: a) in the back b) at significant range c) when the suspect was in clothes he wasn't wearing in the initial escape. I know lots of hunters that would have looked like the escapee, under those conditions. I appreciate the capture. But if I was in that Trooper's boots, I'm not sure I'd have taken the shot. "All's well that ends well." |

Because of the camo-outfit the deputy wasn't certain that it was Sweat...until Sweat started to run! And in the video/still photo's Sweat was for sure decked out in Camo Gear. Yipper, had 'COOK' not brought Sweat down with those 2 slugs - he'd have been long gone and that many more man-hours and equipment tied up looking for him. But I'm thinking like you have; not knowing exactly 'why Sweat is ratting all of the security/staff out at his last lock up'...but if he wasn't those rat-basturds would be getting away with all of their drug smuggling and other nefarious activity in there! Don't you know that they were all praying there'd be 2 dead bodies brought back not just the one. LOL |

I have been wondering how much interference & simply NON corporation existed. ------------------------------------------------------- LTme & 2OLD, I'm thoughly disgusted with conflicting reports AFTER Sweats capture....( of course the media would not have access to him). But... how difficult could be to describe the sighting?, fleeing?, his clothes?, where on his body he was shot ? And of couse this information would be coming from the cops, the DA, the warden, the mayor, the governor. Or is it ? I have checked, CNN, CBS, The New York Times, The Washington Post & Fox News... (since Sweat's capture) TOO many discrepancies.

Sweat says no, that they used only unpowered tools, and worked at it for months before they completed their escape. It may help explain how an entire cell-block could be present, and not hear the goings on. ------------------ Initial reports of Sweat's being double-tapped made it seem like a risky ID. Those reports didn't mention the Trooper actually speaking to the escapee before he fired. PS btw Reports vary. - Some say Sweat was shot in the back. - Some say he was shot in the torso. - Some say he got one in each shoulder. On the latter; - either Sweat very lucky, or - the shooter impressively accurate. Two consecutive non-lethal torso shots, at range, is not as easy as one might guess. |

Didn't you both see any of these still photo's on our media updates ? Look at how close he went down to that tree line - and possible escape! WOW...and there's blood on the center of his T-shirt; could be from exit wounds ...  And then this one when the medics were checking him over; no shoulder wounds - just center chest area wounds {could be exit or entrance wounds}     And then this; David Sweats 'MOM'; now that's heart wrenching...gotta feel for the 'MOM'! Bless her heart
