What do you like to do? When you start noticing that your screwing up a lot or when lifes changes are going to fast for you. How do you find a way to slow things down or keep them going smoothly?

Pray, breathe, focus on the blessings and remember the serenity prayer:

God grant me the serenity
To accept the things I cannot change;
Courage to change the things I can;
And wisdom to know the difference.

Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world
As it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right
If I surrender to His Will;
So that I may be reasonably happy in this life
And supremely happy with Him
Forever and ever in the next.

Amen.

Just take one day at a time.

When things seem to pile up and seems I'm going in every direction I stop and take a day for me to think and regroup then go at it again... With a different perspective....whoa

screwing up a lot

According to whom?

If you are an adult, you are expected to set your own standards of life. If you are not as you wish to be at all times, perhaps you are not gaining wisdom from your experience.
Life only moves as fast as you let it.
Even the little things can effect it.
If you pay attention to what is going on and act accordingly you will not screw up so much.
If your life is out of your control, only you can get it under control again. Its your life.

Channel the energy you are using in looking for a activity partner into concentrating more on what you are doing...then you will screw up less.

hahaha...ever heard the saying "this too shall pass"...the ups and downs happen whether i do anything or not...so far, have not encountered a situation where the pebbles on my path did not include gems...just had to use the right eye drops...

I go bushwalking, alone. A day communing with nature lets you think with your own free will, without outside distractions, except for the wildlife and scenery.

If that's not enough, I go camping, alone. A few days communing . . .

If that fails, a few drinks may loosen my neck bolts, and give me a different version of clarity. All things in moderation of course. drinker

With no details, it's hard to guess which version of this common experience you are going through. There's lots of different kinds of "screwing up," and there are lots of different kinds of "life changes" in the universe. Each kind requires a different approach to deal with.

In general, all problem solving is the same: examine the mechanisms involved with what is going wrong, and make changes to how you use them, or which ones you use.

Most dangerous and sneaky possibility: you may have a larger health problem causing both.

No one can take an effective plan of action for rebuilding/repairing in the midst of a storm.

Usually when I am in the scenario you describe, Im too close to my problem , too much in my head and cant see my situation with clarity.

So I start by distancing myself from everyone and everything for a weekend if I can, whether its at home, or by the beach. Some people take a road trip , a long drive or a quick flight to another location, or even go camping /fishing in the woods to get that distance.

After I get that distance, I usually embark on solving a smaller problem that requires a lot of concentration. It could be painting a room or re organising a drawer or purse or building /making sonething like a craft. For others it might be cooking a meal or fishing or tinkering with electronics , but concentrating on a small task usually helps to centre ny scattered thoughts and calm me.

After that Im usually in a better headspace to journal my thoughts / feelings and reflect on the bigger issue thats causing me stress and what I need to change in myself or environment to see the results I want, even if the change is to learn to acceotthe things I cant change like MsHarmony alluded to earlier.

But for me, I need to get troubling thoughts out of my head so it wont feel jumbled with all the other thoughts swirling around in my mind. And I do that by journaling or talking to someone I trust

Sounds like you already know what you have to do.....it also sounds like you have come to a point where there is no room to keep screwing up, perhaps limit has been reached. From what you just said your at the crossroads, is the question really "what do you do when ?.... Or is the real question" Do I really have too???
No their is no other way, just be responsible or NOT. Good luck hun, i just have to say ...your in the right place at the right time..

Hello Ome... I focus on the good stuff and try to eliminate the negative...and when my heart is beating way too fast I just concentrate to slow it down with deep breaths. Just hang on :angel:

Nope...I wore out on Frozen a long time ago. Besides I was raised on Snow White and Cinderella, so those are what I know by heart.
