Of course many things changes with age..As it should..
For example when I was younger, I did over the road trucking.
I was exciting..Seeing the country, sleeping in the truck, eating showering at the truck stop that was a life!!
Now..I still enjoy driving of course, but prefer local, be home every day, it would be nice to have a job where I can get promoted to do something even less driving.
That's my goal, my hope.
Happiness..I am a pretty happy guy, always been so not much changed there.
Pretty happy that I don't get up five times to use the bathroom.

you change with age.. learn things. I am not the same man I was at 20, or 30, or 40... with good reason, You progress with age.

Many people tend to look for more and more to try to be happy;never satisfied in life;nothing is enough for them;these persons never will be entirely happy; it's their choice.

Normally; as we get older;happiness and satisfaction come from simple facts and things in life...to have a good family;be relatively healthy;to have good friends;to love and be loved;to love life as a gift from GOD. If we have all that; we can say we meet happiness everyday.

Be simple; give a nice word or a smile;be happy.

Working and trying to get ahead took up a lot of my young life and I've been a mother since I was 18. I've missed out on things. I feel like I'm backward from a lot of people. I see some who have done lots of things and now trying to work and accomplish things. I guess that's the biggest reason, I don't want a couch potato. I think I've been happy all my life, it's just what I want changes.

I believe that happiness is a fleeting and surface reaction to certain triggers, and that those triggers can change over time.

Happiness I have found comes from finding true genuine love; the other person must love you equally as much as you love that person. By loving someone genuinely, you draw out the happiness which exists in side of all of us. Ken

I think Iโ€™ve learned that I donโ€™t have to chase excitement to find happiness. It was there all along in the little things, like a favorite dish, an unexpected call from a friend or a finished accomlishment.

Profound statement for me this, the crux being the word learned.

happiness is a state of mind and it differs among people.

Hummm to me happiness comes within.. as doing the things you have always wanted to do and stay away from those that create drama...

One can not rely on another in making them happy... another should enhance your life not fix it... whoa

At my age I consider any day above dirt as a happy day.

you can be happy at any age, so it depends on what makes you happy.

My folks are happy people, they live comfortably, they have healthy and happy children and grandchildren.

Im at a point in life where im very comfortable , no financial stress and that makes me very happy.

so my point, happiness is a personal thing

:ok_hand:
Very well said!!!

Happiness is personal and starts from within ourselves!!!

if its dependent on otjers, then we end up sad, disgruntled, unsatisfied, and unhappy while blaming it on other people!!!!

Goal: Learn to let go of negativity and negative people/thoughts

I think as we age we become more aware of our own mortality ... it is an individual experience.. the stressors we endure .. our accomplishments in life, our self worth and self actualisation , the legacy we leave behind , our quality of life and how we cope and adapt .. all convey our level of happiness .. it is a dynamic and forever changing experience .

Happy's happiness thread is in the mingle archives ... she always made me happy

Sure I am older and no doubt somewhat wiser but my goal has been and will always be the same, to find happiness in my life whatever I am doing. My hope may change at times depending on what circumstances present themselves, but my goal will never change.

Happiness changes with age;our goals, hopes and successes change with age too.

What do you think?

I appreciate your comments

Not necessarily for everyone, but I felt much better when I hit 40. I'd never felt so good, so empowered. For the first time in my life I began to care less about what other people think or say, I was more confident and happy about me and my body and what I stand for.
That means you then also start attracting better quality things in life, which can include love, success and so on because you feel more worthy and deserving.

This feeling only increased as I neared 50. I didn't like turning 50 though, and on/after that day some people said "Welcome to the club!"
I was like, what bleeping club? Leave me alone! But oddly enough I again felt the same way I did when I turned 40. Almost as if someone had flicked a switch and it happened overnight. ANd yes, I did feel better, calmer, wiser, more confident and deserving again! I was speechless, had not expected that. And so suddenly I was happy to be 50 as this increased sense of well-being was great!

That means I again could and can attract better quality things & people, including love & success and so on.

So yes, I do think aging helps a lot when it comes to goals, hopes and dreams. In the good sense. Goals and dreams aren't quite so pure when you're still mostly ego-driven (insecurity, fear, or arrogance and so on).
