Such things do always make me happy :)
And since you usually don't buy towels every week it is quite the thing if you get to buy new ones cos the old ones have had it.
A new chapter in life indeed. Time to celebrate, haha.

New bath towels are too soft -I like em absorbent, but kinda rough and scratchy -beach towels are usually just right.

New towels are cool.

For bath towels, I usually buy the ones
I can wear as a cape.

Duck egg color! I just refinished an old piece of furniture in that. I didn’t
even know it was a color until I ran across that paint.

When I get new towels, they will never be white or anything close to that color. It reminds to much of a hospital or hotel.

I use paper towels for everything. And I mean "EVERYTHING".

It's like using a brand new towel every time. They come in all kinds of pretty printed patterns. And you never have to wash them.

Do you shave your body? Or do you pat dry ? If I rub a paper towel on wet hairy places I just get a mess of little paper balls

I was always puzzled when I had white towels ,no matter how clean I was after a shower/bath after a few uses they looked grubby , that's why I changed to black, the the Duck egg colour is a nice change

Do away with towels altogether. Install one or more of those air drying machines you find in restaurant or gas station rest rooms that air dry your hands after washing them. You can paint it any color you wish. If you want more precise air control you can install a hose that will allow you to aim your air flow. See? I am full of good ideas.

I noticed as well that these days bath towels tend to be way softer than they used to be and because of that don't absorb properly.
I got a few new ones, pink of course :) ,and I have to dry myself 3x with them and then still hope it worked.
The 18 yr old purple ones I already had never had that problem. I think they changed what they do to the fibres.

whew...tried that air dryer thing...but doing a headstand to dry the family jewels never quite worked out...a selectable temperature dial setting may have helped...crispy only setting was a bit much...
