Western society has destroyed the biblical marriage of multiple wives and replaced it with monogamy which clearly does not work. In ancient times and today in some countries this is the norm. Modern women must let go of this mindest and jealousy and see the bigger picture. Multiple people under one roof brings security on all levels from children to family business. Be part of something bigger than themselves, it's biblical

Having multiple wives is only a good idea if you live somewhere that the birth rate is low and mortality is high. Any man that tells you otherwise is just being greedy.

I thought the New Testament established that monogamy was the proper thing though? So it was no longer biblical to be polyamorous.

And what ways have monogamy failed? If anything, monogamy is more stable in terms of family and civilization. Monogamy also made it work so that overall more people were able to find partners. In polyamorous/polygynous/polyandrous societies, only the minority of men/women were able to find partners.

Yeah, a person who wants multiple sex partners might take a sentence in the Old Testament out of context, but I am not that kind of person.

The division of the Bible into chapters and verses was not done by the biblical authors. For example, Isaiah 4:1 is the ending of a prophecy that starts in Isaiah 3:1.

That prophecy describes what will happen when God punishes Jerusalem and Judah. According to that prophecy, so many Jewish men will die that single women will be competing for husbands to the point that the women will accept polygamy in order to avoid remaining single.

Hence, the request for polygamy is a part of God's punishment of the Jews of that time.

From a genetics point of view, how long or how many generations before inbreeding becomes a problem? The gene pool needs a good dose of chlorine anyway!


On the whole, isn't the planet getting thicker?

The more intelligent people follow more educational paths, and put off having children until later in life......thus reducing the number of children from more educated backgrounds (or in my case, never having any!!!)
