Last time I brought something similar was a walkman I need something new what is the best? its gonna get banged around allot and used for downloading from the computer.

IPOD all that way, and Itunes is so much better than anything for Windows Media etc...

to be honest ive never used either but having my daughter ive bought plenty lol...she is all about her ipod stuff....so i guess its better i dont know.

I have a 80gb Zune that has a great video screen, sound and simple to use. I'm not going to argue that it's better than an Ipod, but I wouldn't trade mine for one.

Creative makes some decent MP3 players. The one I use is called the Zen Stone Plus- it's a 2MB unit and is the size of an overgrown chiclet. it's a flash based- unit, so there's no working parts. It also comes with a decent pair of ear pods and comes with software to rip and transfer songs to your player with. There are also a bunch of other accessories for it, including armstraps (just the thing for joggers), an battery-powered external speakers. The best thing is that it costs about seventy bucks.

My phone has mp3 player on it. Don't know how to use it, but it has it.

ipod only uses itunes, its more difficult to get itunes on a windows pc, if u have a mac by all means stick with the ipod but i have a very nice 8 gig music/video player mp3 made by a company called sandisk, it works quite well
