"This is quite the eye opener; top countries asking for AID in 2015
Israel = 3 million/ Afghanistan = 1,595 million/
Egypt = 1,506 million million/Pakistan = 881,880
Nigeria = 720,892 /Jordan = 671,000/ Tanzania = 589,886
Kenya = 553,891 / Ethiopia = 482,251 / Uganda = 474,484 "

from 2A's post

Nonsense.
Israel gets vastly more than $3 $mil a year.
I gather Israel has requested an increase this year, perhaps to $3 $Bil.

But in any case, whatever the TRUE $numbers are, tally it all up together, and as George Will says, it doesn't amount to a rounding error.

In a budget the size of the U.S. federal budget; terminating foreign aid would not balance the budget.

Hmmmm...you might need to point out to me where I stated that my idea about the moratorium on all foreign aid 'would balance the budget' --- not even close to what/where I was going! But thanks...seems you've no wish to hear my idea's and just want to ASSume that you know!slaphead

Well, as often happens when meeting/greeting people in any social places; you've never had to offer a friend/a relative/a new human a tissue to take care of that nostril issue slaphead spock
Why would your 'sexual interest' in this new woman be any different; what if she saw a huge snot clump hanging out your nose --- wouldn't it hurt you if she leapt up and just ran away without any explanation?

But on the flip side of your question...I had a co-worker that had just returned to work from her maternity leave {6 months - twin girls} and her hormones were off the charts; but while she was on 'FML' she had acquired a mustache and a chin whisker that was right in the center of her chin and about 1 long surprised

I walked her into the bathroom and showed her the new acquisitions --- while she was mortified at least she had time to leave the work place and go grab a disposalable razor and take care of her facial issues before everyone in the entire building dropped in to see photos of the babies!

Don't we owe our fellow humans the same respect and opportunity to take care of those issues? That's why I never did 'casual sex' / first night lay overs / or sex on the first date; I wanted to know who I was laying with - what personal hygiene habits they had and if that first time was going to happen - a joint shower or bubble bath was going to be in the plans for that nights activity!

My husband thought I was just one real 'PRUDE' of a women...but I stuck to my guns and it so made that first night ever so special. blushing And yes, I'd already been married and my son was 3 by that time - we'd been dating for well over a year!

I've gotta admit...there's hair and then there's humans with 'PELTS'>>>

Since my father was of Native American decent --- he rarely had to save his face and only saw his body when he had his swim suit on and he wasn't body haired up either --- but his scalp was heavy thick curly hair --- he was never going bald.

I so loved and enjoyed all of Robin Williams films and TV shows; but OMG --- that man had 'PELT HAIR' all over his body...when he was butt arsed naked in that move 'Fisher King' and he was standing there in Central Park - naked to the world --- his body hair resembled a young monkey!

There are photo's but I don't like besmirching his image since he's passed away; but you'll notice on any of those still photo's he's shaved clear down around his shirt collar area --- WOW that has to take some serious time and razor blades too shocked

Seems like we've all noticed it RA.
S2 called it what it is: "conflicting reports."
" For all I know, it cld have been a shotgun with buckshot...." RA

You obviously know a lot about guns, terminal ballistics, etc.

S2's right. Here's one 2A posted:
"KUDO's to Deputy Cook and his hand gun ability" 2A

This isn't the only place I read it was a sidearm.
"both wounds appear very close to this sternum --- AMAZING he was even able to speak!
Lungs/heart/major arteries ---" 2A

You make a very sharp point.
If those are exit wounds (reportedly shot in the back), I'd be astounded he survived.
But I'm an amateur at that. I don't know whether they're exit wounds or not.
"... it looks TOO staged to me.

The tree line.
Cops in gloves
The med bag
The blood spots that tell me nothing."
S2

I appreciate your skepticism S2.

But let's make a distinction here:

The "conflicting reports" you cite I don't dispute.
The question is why.
I suspect the reason is; we're playing telephone.

The on-scene officer reports to their patrol sup.
The supervisor hands of to his next in command, and up the chain it goes.
Those guys are pros. They do this all the time. So I suspect they're fairly accurate.

BUT !!

Then there are press briefings.
The press liaison tries to make a coherent picture from the puzzle pieces he's fed one at a time.

His information goes to reporters most of whom lack the technical expertise to understand this stuff. So they make mistakes.

BUT !!

I extremely doubt the NY State Police would PhotoShop forensic documentation; PARTICULARLY in a case like this.
I surely hope there's no other police case this year that gets as much attention as this one.
And I assume it will get an IG investigation.

So I trust the pics.

One other thing S2:
I'm a life-long New Yorker.
In the past decade, I don't recall seeing NY State Troopers in anything smaller than a Crown Vic; that's their econo-box.
Usually I see them in these huge Suburbans.

And guess what:
State Police Suburban SUVs seem to me to ride lower than other Suburbans.
I don't know why that would be; except that I'm guessing they're simply crammed with so much gear, a Crown Vic can't carry it all.

And these guys cover so many traffic collisions, etc; I'm sure if they have that much gear, they'd quite likely have the stuff seen in the pics.

PS
If you're wondering about the proximity to the tree-line;
perhaps that's because the Trooper was better rested, and more lightly outfitted, and so was able to close on his target, thus not shooting from the road, but closed on him to get a better shot, closing until the suspect was 40' from the tree-line, and then double-tapped him.

I personally don't see any obvious conflicts here; just unanswered questions.

1.)All patrol service vehicles are equipped with the 'MEDICAL BAG' seen in the photo; inside you'll find surgical gloves/the emergency oxygen bag that was placed over his face while waiting for the paramedics/ambulance!
2.)Given how many man-hours/lost time with family members and just the shear adrenaline that would be expected from the officers on the scene --- anyone and everyone that has a 'CELL PHONE' would be catching their own memory making moment on their phones!
3.)as in this photo;

there is a wide variety of vehicles utilized in this man-hunt: vans/SUV's/Suburban's/Crown Vics/P Up trucks/off road 4 wheelers/horses/dogs/flat bed trucks/helicopters --- a plethora of vehicles from all the departments involved.

The sad thing is how badly degraded so much of that formerly elegant architecture is.

None the less, I gather it's a tropical paradise, at least climatologically if not politically.

- Bring a camera, and lots of "film" (whatever size batts you'll need)
- be alert to street security risks (don't loiter in dark alleys early in the morning)
- Have a great time.

NOTE:
There will be rules about what currency, what exchange rate, what plastic, and perhaps what WiFi you can use.
You may know all this, but some others that don't travel as much might know; you can spare yourself a lot of severe headaches by just doing a little study and preparation before you begin your vacation abroad.
It's almost like living in another country.

TY for the concern but I've been tracking this for years :wink: Canada has several key vacation resort areas in Cuba and France as well --- it's always grated on our past presidents that Canada never honored our embargo and kept ties with Castro and established some very swanky vacation spots on that island!

My extended family {husbands side} have time share in Cuba's resort areas; I just wasn't allowed to go because I didn't have dual citizenship!

But now I could - just wish it was with my dearly departed...that would have been quite the adventure that we'd dreamed about! :banana:

U.S.-Cuba Relations Jul 1 2015, 2:02 pm ET

Obama on U.S. Embassy in Cuba: 'This Is What Change Looks Like'
President Barack Obama announced Wednesday that the United States and Cuba have struck a deal to open embassies in each other's capitals and re-establish diplomatic relations for the first time in half a century.

"The progress we make today is another demonstration we don't have to be imprisoned by the past," Obama said.

Obama emphasized that the U.S. and Cuba have some shared interests, such as strong anti-terror policies and disaster response. But he acknowledged that the two nations still have "very serious differences" on issues like free speech.

"We won't hesitate to speak out when we see contradiction to those values," the president said.

According to a statement from the Cuban government, officials are aiming to re-open their embassy on or after July 20. White House Deputy National Security Adviser Ben Rhodes told MSNBC that the U.S. will open its embassy in Cuba "shortly after" July 20.

"In making this decision, Cuba is encouraged by the reciprocal intention to develop respectful and cooperative relations between our two peoples and governments," Cuban President Ral Castro wrote President Obama in a letter.

President Obama wrote Castro that both nations are making "an important step" toward normalizing relations.

President Obama announced in December that the United States was ending an "outdated approach" of isolating Cuba, and in May the United States dropped Cuba from its list of state sponsors of terrorism.

This formal step follows Obama's call to normalize relations and economic ties between the two countries after decades of Cold War hostilities. The United States severed diplomatic relations with the communist island country in 1961.

The U.S. said in May it was removing Cuba from its list of state sponsors of terrorism. Cuba was formally removed from the list of state sponsors of terrorism on May 29th.

Secretary of State John Kerry announced Wednesday that he will travel to Cuba later in the summer and called the resumption of diplomatic relations an "important step" in comments that followed the president's remarks.

I clearly understand {both of your histories/stories}; my husband had that misconception engrained in his brain: 'well I'm not smoking so it can't be cancer'...and so many of those young men that start chewing tobacco just don't understand that they are putting the very thing 'RAW & INTO THEIR MOUTH'...that causes CANCER! OMG explode

I can remember caring for all those elderly humans {these past 16 yrs} doing hospice care in the night time: their carpets/wall paper/everything within those walls were stained a dark tan from the tobacco smoke/nicotine stains!

One family had redone their home with a light cream carpet {expensive} and when we relocated the sofa to set up the hospital bed for her husband --- there were the outlines of all the furniture from where the nicotine had stained the carpets --- and noway - not even the professional carpet cleaners were able to get it out!

Oh - hell yes; when these congressional hearings were going on --- it was during the time that CNN first started they 24/7 news coverage and most of those congressional hearings were televised! So we got to hear the lies/BS/perfectly worded diatribes that were being spewed up in WDC --- one after one - each Dr. - lung specialist sat there in front of those microphones and 'swore to tell the truth so help me God' and LIED THEIR EYE TEETH OUT!

Testimony of the 7 CEOs of Big Tobacco

One of the most famous events depicted in the motion picture "The Insider" was the videotaped testimony of the "7 Dwarves" (as they were described by Dr. Wigand) -- the 7 CEOs of Big Tobacco. Their "nicotine is not addictive" testimony, part of the Waxman Hearings, is detailed below.

From 1980 to 1994, Rep. Waxman served as Chairman of the House Subcommittee on Health and the Environment. To help focus public attention on the dangers of tobacco, Rep. Waxman invited movie stars and celebrities to appear before his committee. These hearings contributed to the vast change in public opinion about smoking.

Other hearings by the Waxman subcommittee exposed the secret activities of the tobacco industry, both through the testimony of industry insiders and internal tobacco company documents.

This was during my husbands onset of his cancer: started out as what we assumed was a tooth abscess - then they found cancer in his jaw bone {he was addicted to chewing tobacco from a very young age - 12yrs old} --- he suffered for the next 4 yrs when it went into remission for 2 yrs and then came roaring back to eventually end his life!

I'll spare you the graphic details but his jawbone/throat/tongue were gone before they thought they'd removed all the cancer and it came back in other regions!

We sat there mesmerized by these hearings and the vile BS that was being spewed by BIG TOBACCO and their paid lackeys and sock puppet medical professionals --- they may all rot in the worst life form possible! IMHO

Lack of exit wound, if true, means, to me anyway, that the rounds were fired from some distance. Ill admit though, I dont know the caliber used or the type of round but Im guessing some hollow point variant. Its a little odd that someone shot twice in the back is recovering so quickly....not in a conspiracy kinda way, mind you.....more like, Sweat is one lucky S.O.B.

5 - The Greek Foot
This type of foot is also known as the flame foot and the most distinctive feature is that the second toe is significantly larger than the big toe. People who have a Greek Foot are usually very sporty and creative.

People who have a Greek foot tend to be very enthusiastic and enjoy motivating other people. However, a word of caution: people who have a Greek foot tend to look before they leap, which can lead to stress and problems. Artists and athletes tend to have this type of foot, while the Greek foot could also been seen on public speakers and innovators.

7 - Large Toe Pads
Extremely large toe pads are seen as a blessing and this indicates that the person is a deep thinker who likes to consider things very carefully.

11 - Ability to Separate the Little Toe
Take the time to stretch your foot so that it becomes more flexible and then spread out all of the toes on the foot. If you are able to separate the little toe from the fourth toe it is an indication that you need constant change in your life to be happy, hate routine and are very adventurous. You probably find that you get bored easily and if things start to fall into a routine you will most likely do something drastic to switch things up a little.
