That's about it....

I never saw it as a situation where I needed to do something to impress someone. The decision to be impressed (or not) is something that she's going to generate (or not) internally -- if I have to do any steering or "impressing" or manipulating, it's all sort of pointless.

As it's been a number of years since I've been in that situation, I suppose nowadays I could mention my writing. But only if she initiates the topic.

Seeing as how I have no plans to ever get married again, I think this would present a serious problem!

I think there's a corollary of Murphy's Law that says the ones you want to hear from are never the ones who actually contact you. That's been my experience, anyway....!

Nope, I will be all alone, working on my next book, just like every other day....

I have not been able to find a suitable partner on the internet, but there are plenty of other reasons to be here....

OK, dating WITH sex can be just as much of a waste of time.

As far as the whole "genetic attraction based on perpetuation of the species" argument goes, I have no interest in that at all -- not only do I have no interest in reproducing, but women who display the colloquially-termed "breeder" physiques do absolutely nothing for me in terms of physical attraction.

Is this because of my "thought process" though? I'm not entirely sure -- there is a conscious awareness of it, yes, but my predisposition towards non-reproduction goes back farther than my ability to dissect it as a psychological phenomenon. So maybe there's an element in there somewhere that has roots in something more genetic than intellectual. I really couldn't say for sure.
