I was gone 4 days on a conference. I didn't have anyone check on the cat... cause it was only 4 days... and I gave her plenty of food and water (plus she drinks out of the toliet too, I know its gross) Anyways... when I got home last nite... I could hear her meowing for me down the hall... and last nite she drove me crazy by bothering me and wanting me to pet and play with her. I think that she really missed me and my son...

so what are your thoughts on pets and feelings/emotions?

I know they do! My son has a rotweiler, and he's such a sweet dog. Whenever my son is in the hospital, my poor granddog won't even eat. sad2

absolutely, and cats are very emotional. my ex and i went on a 2 week vacation. her mom came over and checked on the cats every couple of days, but when we got home the oldest (her cat before she met me) got in bed with us and laid down on top of her instead of next to her, and purred his fool head off.

Boy, do they ever have feelings!!! I've had kitties since I was 5 years old. They definitely have feelings, and miss people, and get depressed and silly and perky and fiesty, and are intelligent. My Winnie is at this moment expressing her ennui with the morning at hand. She will likely start making out...... yep, as we type!! laugh laugh laugh Oh, her little cheeks are puffing up and she's got that weird gleam in her eye. Yup, she's bopping the crap out of my chin............

of course some do.. ever yell at a dog for messing up the carpet? they look bad at you like "all i want to do is please you, but i couldn't hold it anymore." I don't know from other pets.. cats just seem to flip you off if you yell at them.

Of course they do, EVERY dog I have had has had a distinct personality and U can hurt their feeling by just a bad word to them!!!

Of course they do. Believe me, mine are quite expressive about things. Whenever I go away, my cats pack themselves into my bags and when I come home, they alternate between being extremely loving and ignoring me completely.

No doubt pets/animals have feelings! If a person doesn't have pets, all they need to do is watch "Meercat Manor" to see that. They have feelings, intelligence (which we are too stupid to understand) and communications systems.

Of course they do. When I spilt up with my last boyfriend I was crying. My Fatcat pressed his body against me, one leg around my neck & one paw on my face, purring loudly until I stopped crying. He had never done that before or since. He knew I was in need of his love.

My cat will kick your cats ass!laugh laugh
That's how mean she gets when I go away for more than a day. The looks she gives? Man...she is vicious.

Tanya, animals do have the same feelings and emotions we humans do, but most of the time, we just don't pay attention to their feelings and what they say to us. I worked at an animal shelter and the saddest thing I saw that really let me know that dogs do show emotion, is a female had a litter of pups in the shelter and they didn't survive. I had to go in there and pick them up and take them away from her and she was actually crying as she was licking them trying to revive them. When the cage was empty, she howled a little and layed down very sad eyed. So yes, God blessed them with feelings as we do, just not a voice so we can hear all the complaints like we do.

I absolutely think so. Not only what you speak of but I know when my husband died, our dog, who was primarily HIS dog, walked around whining and looking for him for the longest time.

Our animals are the same way. Last year, I left them for a week, but came home just long enough to feed/water them and they were all spazzy and freaked out--I felt bad leaving them again. And all three cats have VERY different personalities.

And we got a pound puppy about six weeks ago. She's about six months old and it's VERY obvious that she was treated poorly.
