hold onto things that you really should get rid of? In other words, are you a pack-rat?

Only when it comes to my books.

I don't consider that packratting.

I use, go through, and reread my books frequently enough that they don't gather dust. Yes, all 1900 of them.

LOL! Right on!

An ex wanted me to sell mine, too. That didn't go over real well.

I do end up being the one who moves all the books though. I get tired of whiny men griping about the weight. The rubbermaid containers come in handy, well protected and reuseable.

I've got almost 500 books in Sci-Fi/Fantasy alone. LOL! That doesn't include the other groups.

I come from a long line of pack-rats, but living in small houses for a number of years really helped cure me of that. I still probably hang onto too much. Things are just things...

I used to be so bad that my photo was in the dictionary under pack rat! In the last ten years, I've learned to hang onto memories and less stuff...they're easier to file!

I hold on to my weiner, I have no intention of getting rid of that.

Sometimes I wonder if Peccy and Patsfan were seperated at birth with what they come up with!

However, I admit to being a packrat. I can have old car/bike parts sitting in the garage for 20 years with 4 inches of dust. I scrap it, then never fails that a week later somebody comes around desperately needing it!

nope, I could care less about "stuff". As long as my needs are met and I have music and books, I'm good!

I've got plastic tubs stacked on top of plastic tubs full of paperbacks

the hardbacks I keep forever

the paperbacks I ocasionally take to the used book store and trade in. right now think I have five tubs of paperbacks to take (maybe six)

I have a one year rule. If I have something for a year and do not use it within that time frame, it is either given away, sold, or tossed in the trash.
