You know funches, its actually kinda funny, wow, it is like a revelation. When you look at god as like the great evil in the bible, then god seems more believable. I know it sounds like sarcasm, but think about it. If god doesnt give it to a person then its wrong. God can only love us if we fear him. Theres plenty of more things to say, but itd be going on and on too much kinda.

But yeah, I see what you mean, satan being an angel was doing his duty by being a positive in the actions of fueling their desire to grow, to gain knowledge. It is all about whose hands it is in, but that is positive and negative though, not good and evil. Sparrows was referring to knowledge as evil, so since its supposed to be evil then never is there a good use, unless to "love god", but that doesnt take knowledge, it takes subjugation. Id refer to it more as positive/negative which means even though can be used for bad, is not absolutely bad, as opposed to the term evil, and same goes for positive/good. I guess its difference of interpretation maybe on good/evil and all that jive.

It's not the knowledge itself that was evil. It was disobeying God when he specifically said not to eat of the tree.

one of the reasons why knowledge is evil in the realm of religion is because the more knowledge one has the lesser one needs God and the more one become God , God is only the sum of his knowledge but if God can not see the outcome of what he creates before he creates it....then even God has a lack of knowledge and therefore is not omniscient

but the knowledge that would be considered to be evil is the knowledge that has no place in Heaven ...the only knowledge that does have a place is Heaven is how to till the soil and give animals names ...even love would not have a place in Heaven because there is the chance that one may love another more than they love God

why would knowledge be considered evil? that sounds like something the churches made up in the 16th century... knowledge is information, neither good or bad. it's all in how you use it. we as humans are the good and evil, not the knowledge we obtain.

I never said any such thing.

But...you can prove it by copy/paste/post

or

you can retract your statement.

What you decide to do will tell us

What kind of "Moral Atheist" you really are

exactly, and again it wasn't the gaining of knowledge that was wrong and or evil. It was DISOBEYING WHAT GOD TOLD THEM NOT TO DO.

it's according to the bible that knowledge was good or evil, the theory is, a person would be incapable of committing evil if they lack the knowledge of evil

which mean there were no "Free Will" in Eden to disobey God since disobedience would be considered as being evil knowledge and Adam and Eve lack such knowledge

I'll say it till i'm blue in the face funches. The act of gaining the knowledge wasn't what was wrong in what they did. It was the disobedience of their actions that was wrong and is why they were kicked out.

Cowboy...try to use a little logic for once...disobedience is clearly the knowledge of Evil...so how could Adam and Eve disobey God if they lacked the knowledge of evil ...this is why what Adam and Eve did was not about disobedience since they lack that knowledge

sigh...didn't god give everyone a free will? if you know what is right and wrong, you don't need anyone, god too, to tell you what to do or not to do...

so what was the freewill god gave everyone? do what i say or burn in hell? sounds like freewill to me... hitler said that too, didn't he? or something like it. do what i say or die... i guess we have the freewill do it or die, burn in hell... why did god tell them not to eat it? just because he was bored? eating an apple releases all evil? there are cartoons on tv that have a better plot that that, they at least make sense.

All free will is, is choice. You have the ability to choose to follow God or not. We are not robots and or puppets forcibly made to do anything, we still have the ability to either obey or disobey. That is ALL free will is.

No God doesn't want us to forcibly worship/love him. God wants us to willingly love him and see all the great things he has done for us all.

And no, we have a loving God. Not a demanding dictator God. God will judge us on where our hearts are, we aren't going to be denied heaven for some mistakes we accidentally did and or did something we didn't want to do.

my aim was to point out that disobedience to God was the knowledge of evil and how Adam and Eve lacked that knowledge and why disobedience therefore can not be used as a logical reason for the fall from Eden, unless of course you disagree and actually believe that disobedience to God is the knowledge of good

that is not "Free Will" that is called making a threat or making a choice under duress ...."Free Will" is the non-interference of a divine entity in order to not influence choice ...this is why Jesus presence neutralized any aspect of Christians claiming to have "Free WIll" because Jesus is a direct influence from a Divine entity and therefore their choice has been compromised

But they still have the choice....... that is ALL free will is. The ability to make your own choices.
