No God has NEVER told someone to kill someone. And now you're gonna get a verse out of old testament. So i point out that in the old testament times people were judged on earth for their actions. And the only reward for sin is death, so yes people were told to stone sinners. They were not killing anyone, the one that killed anyone was themselves. Killed themselves by committing their lives to a sinful nature.

jeez Cowboy...you are the master of contradiction....first you claim God never commanded anyone to kill and then in the same post you try to dismiss the fact that God did command that people kill in the old testament

so is that what you would say to God if he asked you to kill today....that you would say to God....hey God I don't have to do as you say and kill because the old testament was full-filled by Jesus

How is that a contradiction? I said and i quote "They were not killing anyone, the one that killed anyone was themselves" And this is done through sinning for the only reward for sin is death.

And your second statement doesn't deserve a responce because God would never do as such, because he has told us not to kill and has never done this before, so he has no reason to start now.

Cowboy.......it appears you are once again resorting to lying...someone killing theirself is called suicide ...did God command them to committ suicide on themselves or homicide on those other than themselves ....

No i'm not lieing. The passing away of our mortal bodies is not death.

Death would consist of ceasing to exist, the only way to achieve this is by not following what God has told us to do. And yes we stumble from time to time and is why God gave us a way to be forgiven.

cool.....so that means that Jesus didn't die on the cross or for your sins

No Jesus didn't "die" for our sins. Jesus was crucified for our sins.

crucify just means being hung on a cross...that happenned to a lot of people so it's nothing special...it's not like Jesus died or anything....

Jesus did nothing to deserve this. He didn't kill anyone, didn't steal, didn't do anything in that nature. He was crucified for being the son of God, he sacrificed himself so that we may have the way to be forgiven of our sins.

HEBREWS 10:5-10

5Therefore, when Christ came into the world, he said:

“Sacrifice and offering you did not desire,

but a body you prepared for me;

6with burnt offerings and sin offerings

you were not pleased.

7Then I said, ‘Here I am—it is written about me in the scroll—

I have come to do your will, O God.’”a

8First he said, “Sacrifices and offerings, burnt offerings and sin offerings you did not desire, nor were you pleased with them” (although the law required them to be made). 9Then he said, “Here I am, I have come to do your will.” He sets aside the first to establish the second. 10And by that will, we have been made holy through think the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ think once for all.

2sparrows...what you posted basically confirm that Jesus was on some sort of suicide mission and suicide is a sin....but either way if Jesus did not die on the cross then he made no scarifice ....a sacrifice would have been if Jesus ceased to exist, but of course Jesus wasn't about to sacrifice that

this is why many christians try to claim that Jesus died on the cross for their sins because they can't see any type of sacrifice that took place ...

He sacrificed his life to be dedicated to serving God and teaching the world of our fathers great love and how to obtain the gift of heaven.

Every sec of his life was dedicated to all of us *the entire world*. Did not live his life for himself, but lived his life for us and went through all this knowing he would crucified at the end of his mortal life.

That's one heck of a sacrifice

He didn't start a "new" religion. They just didn't think Jesus was the messiah that was prophesied to come. They didn't think Jesus was the son of God. But Jesus was the fulfillment of the old testament, and again the jews didn't see this because they didn't think he was the messiah promised to come.

HEBREWS9:20-26

think “This blood confirms the covenant God has made with you.”think j 21And in the same way, he sprinkled blood on the Tabernacle and on everything used for worship. 22In fact, according to the law of Moses, nearly everything was purified with blood.think For without the shedding of blood, there is no forgiveness.think

23That is why the Tabernacle and everything in it, which were copies of things in heaven, had to be purified by the blood of animals. But the real things in heaven had to be purified with far better sacrifices than the blood of animals.

24For Christ did not enter into a holy place made with human hands, which was only a copy of the true one in heaven. He entered into heaven itself to appear now before God on our behalf. 25And he did not enter heaven to offer himself again and again, like the high priest here on earth who enters the Most Holy Place year after year with the blood of an animal. 26If that had been necessary, Christ would have had to die again and again, ever since the world began. But now, once for all time, he has appeared at the end of the agekthink to remove sin by his own death as a sacrifice.think

People's different interpretation of what the bible means and says. I have a theory there are different denominations due to Satan. For if he keeps us arguing over what the bible is saying we won't be all united against Satan. With us being seperated like this it gives Satan more power on earth.

2sparrow...the passages you presented describes performing rituals ...and once again it's another passage that describes Jesus as being suicidal (using himslef as a sacrifice) ...but if Jesus was still walking around after being removed from the cross then he wasn't dead ....

Only the idiotic will call knowledge evil. Its the same thing with people that are illiterate and actually stubborn on not learning to read. They dont have to because its useless and bad. So, to cover stupidity, people will say knowledge comes from satan, just like in the old days. Somebody asked how something worked, person didnt know, so it was god...and dont question it or youll burn forever. Stupidity runs in different ways, trying to sanctify it as holy is a waste of good time.

Much like the famous line "If God asked me to kill innocent people I would. ... But he won't ask"

Or saying that a young child dying is a good thing..

or trying to make slavery a good thing...

onewickedcarnie's photo
Tue 06/29/10 05:16 AM
Wait, what? Making slavery a good thing? No chance in hell a person should ever think they can own another, doesnt matter who you are or what you believe in, not one damn persons life matters more than anyone elses, all life is equal and precious.

Never a reason for murdering children. Dont really think have to get into this one, shouldnt have had to about slavery being bad, they both are obvious.

And about your quote listed, only the idiot blindly follows, the person of knowledge will challenge god and ask why

Well, at least with atheism it leaves a person with finding the answers to stuff, not having it be claimed to be "gods work" and never challenged. The reason, in my opinion, on why more and more people are becoming atheists is simply because they cant be killed anymore for challenging the churchs views, theres no political scare going on in most places about how atheism is unpatriotic thus causing scorn from countrymen.

I very much dislike to argue with a christian because most of them display the same backwards logic.

Q. How do you know the bible is real?
A. Because god said it is.
Q. How do you know god is real?
A. Because of the bible.

....and it goes on and on and on, maybe a little different wording, but my point got across im sure.

Never said it was murder, yesterday a theist on here told me that whenever something bad happens to us, it's our fault, so I brought up a young child dying, of natural causes, with no abuse or negligence, and got told the child's death was a good thing, not a bad thing.

knowledge is neither good nor evil it is simply information, but in the religious realm any knowledge not first handed down by God in the garden of eden is evil ...God's plan for the human race were to keep them bare-foot dumb and pregnant, Satan being an angel had no choice but to help adam and eve by granting them the desire to seek knowledge and save them from such a fate
