Didnt approve of the language

otherwise, I found she was being quite dramatic for effect and take no issue with the parents spanking her.

Are you serious? The language is what bothered you?

completely serious, if I mute it, just looks like a butt whooping of a child that refused to turn over so the butt could get the brunt it is built to be able to endure,,,

You cannot be serious...but I think this is a fake video????

did you try muting it

I did

he strikes her random times with pauses in between, a spanking pretty much is one paddle after the next

BUT

there are repeated pauses while she fidgets and fumbles and tries to avoide

the most he struck at any time was 4,, thats a pretty slight spanking actually, problem is he couldnt connect or actually reach her butt because she kept being hard headed and avoiding

he spends the whole time trying to manage the belt AND turn her over (and she is not small) , if he were just having at her randomly it would be different

but he was trying to spank her BUTT, she kept positioning herself so that it was other parts being struck while making sure to scream and cry extra loud for her camera

yes, I do condone spanking (paddling on the behind), I believe it has failed if you still need it at 16 though,,

different children require different discipline, if spanking is going to work, it will work at an early enough age that by 16 the technique is no longer needed (usually by 5 or 6)

I cant watch it....sorry guys.....when I was a child i was pulled from my bed by my hair thrown into walls punched and spanked with a belt hit over the head with a hammer etc. for the mere infraction of forgetting to do a chore like the dishes or wipe the table....I do not agree with using an instrument other than the hand to spank.....cerebal palsy remains a serious disease.....and I agree that other methods should be used for an ill child, an ill child doesn't learn like a normal child.....even though my son has epilepsy and autism his fits do not merit spanking....using positive and negative reinforcements like rewards and taking certain possessions away are that is necessary to discipline children......if it takes more than that then psychological counseling maybe necessary for the family as a whole in order to learn what's different about the child and what disciplinary actions should be taken...

I am sorry for your abuse.

I dont feel all illness is equal and I am giving parents the benefit of knowing the specifics of their own childs conditions.

Even knowing the specifics doesn't make it right to beat an ill child.....parents of ill children lose their temper but need to be able to cope with their own anger issues and after 16 years may need counseling to redirect their own issues and coping mechanisms.....even more so because he is a judge and it makes me wonder how he bases his decisions in court on abusive court hearings....how he justifies his own behaviors....he should not be spanking a child cerebral palsy

http://www.cerebralpalsysource.com/About_CP/behavioral_cp/index.html

Behavioral Problems and Cerebral Palsy

Unfortunately, behavioral problems and cerebral palsy are usually correlating, depending on the degree of mental retardation in the patient. The child may have behavioral problems or emotional issues that, in turn, may affect psychological development and their ability to interact socially. This may require special intervention or treatment, including behavior modification programs or individual and family counseling.

There are several possible causes and solutions for behavioral problems found in cerebral palsy patients. By discussing these problems and possible solutions, it may benefit you and your child when dealing with behavioral problems and cerebral palsy.

Frustration is one of the most common problems found in children when addressing behavioral problems and cerebral palsy. When a child has difficulty completing a task, they become discouraged and angry. Help the child to feel a sense of achievement by helping him or her along with the task allowing them to finish.

The inability to communicate may also cause disruption associated with behavioral problems and cerebral palsy. Disabilities can prevent communication when inexperienced people are around. Sometimes a child that cannot walk around freely, or has aural or visual problems, or tends to demand the mother’s, or caretaker’s, presence in its surrounding continuously. Quite often the person caring for the child needs to step away in order to get a break from the many tasks they have to do for the child. This is fine, but you can keep the child involved just by talking or making frequent eye contact with them.

Since it is sometimes difficult for children to understand and relate to children with cerebral palsy, those affected usually do not have neighborhood playmates. Even siblings may not want to spend too much time with them. Of course, it will be difficult for a spastic child with limited mobility to have a group of friends to constantly hang out with. Try and invite a group of children of the child’s age over once a week where they can play. Arrange some fun activities and don’t worry whether the child will behave properly at first. Eventually the children will get used to it, and will relate to each other.

Attention deficit disorder, or ADD, is also associated with behavioral problems and cerebral palsy. Many of those who are immobile let their attention wander. In some spastic children attention span improves with age. Posture is important when talking to a child. Make sure they are sitting straight up and you are talking directly to them. When teaching the child something, take them to a bare corner of the room in order to avoid any distractions. Switch off the television and any other noisy distractions and try to increase his or her attention span gradually, reducing behavioral problems and cerebral palsy.

Enforcing discipline with respect to a handicapped child can become difficult due to our undecided attitude toward the child. In some homes, there is too much negative feedback, which creates further disciplinary problems. In other homes, the child is treated too much like an infant. The child, in all essence, should be treated just like any other child. Behavioral problems and cerebral palsy are best handled through an experienced group of medical practitioners and the use of local support groups.

there are many types and degrees of illnesses

even CP

some have lupus, which keeps them in constant pain
some have lupus, that causes skin disruptions
some have lupus, managed with medication, and suffer from only rare and occasional pain or disruptions

CP is a similar case, it can disrupt brain function or disrupt motor skills or both

I would expect parents to be aware of what their childs condition is and what areas of their life it should or shouldnt affect

,,having turrets ,for instance, isnt an excuse to avoid being disciplined for stealing

The Father and Mother are equally abusive.
IMO, the Mother or Father should not have custody or visitation with the child.
He did it and she allowed it to happen.
I know what abuse is and I know the damage the parents inflict.

I can see spanking. Have done it but, they're some sick sons-o-biches.

You believe the sixteen year old was play acting for the camera with cerebral palsy the childs actions werent play acting hearing what the fathers saying and understanding what to do in a mental retardation situation is ridiculous especially when its been proven that over discipling such children in this manner further creates bad behaviors in such children and we arent talking about lupus and yes turrettes syndrome can excuse stealing when they arent really mentally aware they are doing because in turrettes syndrome it could be a reflex reaction that they arent aware is happening just as in cussing or tics that cannot be controlled by the individual...

all illness doesnt affect all children with RETARDATION

parents know how much their kids understand or dont understand in most situations

IF a child has a form of an illness that causes such retardation, than of course their inability to understand becomes a factor

I dont know of any evidence of that being the case in this family,,
if it is, that would make it different

I think if she understands well enough to sit up a camera to 'video' the disipline,,and 'wait for the right time, to release it

she probably understood that she wasnt supposed to be downloading the illegal material

Six reasons not to hit your child...

1. Hitting models hitting...
2. Hitting devalues the child...
3. Hitting devalues the parent...
4. Hitting may lead to more serious abuse...
5. Hitting does not improve behavior...
6. Hitting promotes anger......

Please don't hit your children......

I was very valued.
I value my parents highly.
I was never 'abused'.
I improved my behavior when I was spanked.
I Was not angry about being spanked.

Please discipline poor behavior responsibly and with a BALANCE of reward and aknowledgement for good behavior,,,flowerforyou

do what works with YOUR children and dont feel bullied into the one size fits all theories of the time,,,

In this particular situation the illness is cerebral palsy and ceberal palsy causes at least some form of mental retardation...this is specific

How do you know she set it up to record her parents hitting her....it could have been set up for another purpose.....how do you know any of the individuals involved posted it......or that it was done for money.....maybe someone else found it and posted it to expose the abuse endured by another......or to expose a judge guilty of breaking his oath of upholding the law dependent on the state and its laws governing what is abuse or isnt in that state

For instance: In the State of Delaware it is legal to spank your child on the behind with your hand without leaving a red mark....anything beyond that is abuse in the State of Delaware

His daughter has said she set up the camera and taped it. She has admitted releasing it too. Coincidentally, after he had told her he would no longer financially support her.

Id say she is a pretty smart cookie, CP or not,,,

Sorry, I got about 1:30 into the video before having to stop it - I felt like punching my own monitor - so I can't comment on the other six minutes.

I was spanked as a child but it was always about humiliation, not causing bodily harm. This sick, belt-toting [expletives escape me] is abusing a child, no two ways about it. And he is a judge? He is in authority to dish out punishment?! How can anyone not see there is something very wrong here?!!

if its any consellation, the 'spanking' was about a minute and a half, the other six minutes was arranging the scene and alot of verbal chastising,,,

its much less extreme when you mute it, the verbal was actually more shocking than the lashes,,,
