I am talking about the self-checkouts that are becoming popular at grocery stores, Wal-Mart, Target and the like. Do you use the self checkouts or are you like me and despise them? I mean...I don't get paid to scan and bag my own stuff so why should I do all the work?

well believe me !!..if I could get somebody to do it for me..lol... I would.. ...

.. deliver the merchandise to the store for them...... it's just their way of... making even more profit with less cost..... I'm all for profit but you need to share.

I use'em every chance I get. There's seldom a line and I'm an independent cuss on the best of days. I can find things more productive to do than stand in lines.

and got me started..lo.. what's up with Walmart and fifty registers and only 5 of them open.. on a busy Saturday...wtf... my time is not worth anything... I need to stand in line for 40 minutes.. and give them money..

we are running out of jobs so fast i would like to think that we can keep some people with jobs other then the big companys that are all ready getting way to many tax breaks and making to much money any ways

Plenty of factors can lead to there being too few registers open during rush of customers, and those factors can be beyond the control of a store's manager.

I hate them I don't use them period...

I've used both. But I am aware that all those self check out lanes requiring one employee monitor are taking jobs away from people.

So for that reason alone I don't care for them.

Okay, there is a second reason...

I lose the opportunity to be clever when a lady says, "I can check you out over her sir" and I go to her lane, stand up straight, smile, and say, "So, what do you think?"
