Have you ever wondered why socks in the house always ends up missing one or seeing odd one with the one you needed.

Do you remember how many times you found the right pair ........

But you always remember the time you got the different pair

rofl. I know. It's crazy. I buy about three new pairs every other week. Just to make sure I have spare pairs, incase my washer steals any more of my socks. It's a sock hoarder. I'm sure this is why my washer sometimes floods my kitchen floor. My kitchen has been flooded three times so far. I'll expect it again. Maybe I'll buy a boat so that we can all go sailing on the sea shore, on my kitchen floor. Maybe I'll buy some sand, just to add to it. Why not? Let's make a beach out of it. biggrin whoa

I'm not sure I want to. laugh. A certain pair of socks, bring back memories of a horrible accident I had, at christmas last year. I almost ended up losing a toe. Now, every time I pass the shop I bought them from, I cringe. I'm never going to buy socks from that certain shop again. I'm surprised I can even LOOK at a sock again. Never mind wear one. laugh

I only buy the same socks, so I never end up with an odd pair.

And funny enough ... since I been living on my own, I NEVER have socks disappear on me anymore.
No idea why ... When we were with 5, 3 teenagers, my ex and me, socks were a bleedin' nightmare!
Lord knows where they go. But with the amount that went missing, you could have done serious landfill in the North Sea laugh

Sometimes we do not know what we wore until we're made to know by others

My everyday socks are called mix and match socks. So if one gets taken by the dryer gnome.. I am okay with that I have 11 others of that batch that will coordinate...

It's true, we are always cautious when we didn't find the other pair

** Do people still match socks laugh
* Wearing a sock is ok, having two socks is a happy bonus.
* Are holes matched or colour or style ?
** Odd socks are just a puppet looking for a friend smitten

Mundane note: I found out where most socks escape. It's through the exhaust water hose of the clothes washer. During the wash cycle, socks can be turned in to long thin spaghetti like things, and easily slide through into the sewers, and unless you have the old setup where your exhaust water feeds into a big concrete sink, the socks will be gone.

Lots of people assume the dryer eats them, because they don't count socks between washer and dryer, and therefore only notice they are gone when folding.

If you are the hyper disciplined and organized sort, and you can get yourself to put all your socks into one of those fabric mesh bags before laundering, the only problem you'll be left with, is that invariably, ONE sock will develop a hole while the other doesn't.

I don't like having same types of socks, so if I find a loner he goes into the holding drawer. If his mate doesn't show up, he gets trashed.
