Everyone is entitled to their opinions about how to raise their kids and that is fine. Some things work with some kids that dont work with others. I was spanked when I was a child and can say I completely deserved it. No one ever looked at it as abuse. There is a far cry difference between abusing someone and disaplining them. My child is not going to end up dead because I spank him when he needs it. He doesnt now or will ever have bruises because he is not even spanked hard enough to leave them.

I think so.
Kids need to be taught what can and can't be done. Talk to em about the minor ones but for the unaccaptable ones they need a whipping to drive the point home the first time. |

I have 4 children all grown up now except for one still at home,,, Believe it or not I never had the need to spank my kids,,, and dont think I could ,,, there are other ways to deal with children,,,, and there sometime off the wall behavor,,,
In my opinion,,,spanking is just wrong,,, Guidance, love and a whole lotta patience has worked for me   |

I grew up where parents did spank their kids and no one batted an eye. I don't have any kids myself but I know people who do. Sometimes a quick smack on the butt will work better than putting them in time out where they seem to plot their next attack. A quick smack is just that, once & it's over. I'm not saying to continually smack the kid, that would be abuse.

Waaaay back when, spanking your kids was acceptable and we had a much better "breed" of kids in society.
Today, it's not socially acceptable to spank kids...and look at what a bunch of fvkked up, whiny, disrespectful, lazy, never going to amount to anything (unless the 'puter figures it out for them) kids are running around out there. They all need a good "left hook" to knockem' back into place....

They all need a good "left hook" to knockem' back into place.... Wow,, Look what were teaching our kids,, I Hit you so you can go out and hit someone else,,,,, Sad... very sad My Kids were not perfect nor was I,,, And through it all,, and yes alot of crap,,, i did not raise my hands to them,, Again my opinion,,, hit we teach them to hit,, Show love, kindness and understanding,, we teach them respect for themselves as well as for others... Lazy kids come from lazy parents,, we should get off our butts and spend more time with our children,, grandchildren and change the way society and parents have created image's and life style that our children deem accetable...... |

Lazy kids come from lazy parents ROTF... You could not be further from the facts on that. I make my kids "earn" everything that they want/get. The "work" for it. I'll be "that stranger" telling your kids to sit down, shut up and eat" in the restaurant one day...Yup, that's me. If the parents won't correct their kids...then I will. And if the parents need "correcting"...then I'll do that too.

I always chuckle when I hear Parents say 'I would never spank my kids".... Yeah...I can tell...that's why they're running around like little animals... Hang on...I'm gonna' go and kick one of 'em right now!!!....
But honestly, I could not tell you the last time that I had to spank one of mine, and they are 7,12 & 14. The last time that I did have to spank them...it was soooo long ago that I can't remember when it was (years) it made a lasting impression. They just KNOW that if they misbehave (not just 'act like kids') , disrespect an elder etc...etc that that @ss whoopin' is still just around the corner. Just like a cop carrying a gun...he will probably never user it, but it's always there...just incase
