Should that be a red flag when someone you are interested in says that.

I think it depends on that context, and how it's said. If it 's just a passing observayion, well, ya, most of us do just want to be happy.

But if it's a reflection of more deep seated problems, well, it could be a red flag. You have to suss that out by talking to them to see what they mean. They might be saying in the context that you bring them happinessflowerforyou

That all depends if it is with someone you just met then no ........But if it is coming from someone that you have been with for a while then yes........seems they are not happy if they say that at that time..whoa

No! That's a good thing, at least they don't want to be miserable. Misery loves company, and that could be you. So, red flag, I doubt it very seriously!laugh

Not if they follow that sentence with "So please have sex with me". Win-win.

It would leave me to believe they are not happy and possibly playing the victim. “What about me ...”

When I hear that statement – I immediately think “emo kid”.

Everyone deserves to be happy but to whine and say, “I just wanna be happy” tells me they do nothing to achieve happiness – and would just rather complain.

Somehow I doubt that a relationship also the only way to be happy. If you can't be happy without having a relationship, than you expect too much.

Sure someone become happier, but if I'm sad and somehow think that my mood will change to happy, just because of getting a girlfriend, than it would seem like I just try to find a reason and blame something.

I'm generally a happy person actually, this dating site only shows my dating side and my thoughts about women and dating and relationships. That's like only one side out of my other million sides.

You do have a point. Some people put a very high priority on them being happy. If they let you know often that somebody else is supposed to keep them happy and that's when they will return the favor, they are usually very selfish.

I love to make people laugh, even at my expense sometimes, but having somebody depend on you for happiness is just a drag.

Most people want somebody who is happy with themselves.

Yeah, I'd say it's a red flag. Someone that needs another person to be happy will be emotionally draining. I look for people that are already happy.

Love doesn't MAKE you happy. Nor do other people. Once you are happy, you can share it with others.

We all want to be happy. But happiness must be found within oneself. Another person cannot make you happy. They can just compliment your happiness. tristan.
