I can't tell you how many times I've been on a first date with a woman over about 32 where she was asking me about my future plans on getting married before the food even arrived. What? I just met you. Don't you think we should get to know each other a little before we talk about that?

So much baggage, so much bullheadedness, so much bad attitude. They blame every problem in their lives on some man or on men in general. And seem to be looking for another man to solve them. I'm sick of it.

I never get that kind of BS from women in their late teens and early 20s. The young ones look better, are more fun and don't give me nearly as much grief. They don't nag or complain and they aren't looking for a man to replace the one that left them. Sure, there are a few maturity issues, but it's not nearly as bad as the crap I've dealt with from more mature women. In other words, it's worth the effort because the rewards are better.

So 32 is now middle age. That just got me pretty depressed. I was feeling great today until I realized I had one foot in the gravebigsmile
Sorry about your bad experiences but I never ask about marriage plans because I don't plan on ever doing that again. Also anything that has happened in my life has been because of the choices I made and I choose to learn from them. Blaming another person serves no purpose in my life. We all have baggage it just depends on how we choose to carry it. If dating the younger ladies works for you then that is great. For me a man with life experience that I can relate to is what is best for me.

men like you have a name and usually get caught sooner than later and end up in the state pen .. good luck buddy finding a match ,,and as far as maturity and bs it pretty much sounds as if you summed yours all up ....i'd wish you a good day ,, but i won't waste my effort on such a devious creature that preys on young women ........

I do not understand why you have such a problem with being asked about your plans and feelings about marriage before the food arives. Isn't that conversation a part of getting to know you a little better? What does it matter if it is asked before food or after the entree? I am guessing here, but I take it that you are not interested in marrage at all. So why not be honest right off the bat and let a lady know before she gets her heart involved?

It also sounds like you have some baggage from a previous relationship that you feel you got burnt on. JMO. Are these 30 plus ladies, with bad attitude and bullheadedness that way in your eyes because they have decided to not let men use them for sex and then walk away, leaving them with broken hearts again? I do not know these women or you really, so I am taking all this from your rant only.

I know that for my part that I am tired of meeting men that only want a one night stand. For me it is a lonley existance. I want that feeling of knowing that the man that I am to be with will want marriage and shout it to the world that we belong to each other and no one else. A partner to travel the path of life with each others best interest at heart. I have been called bullheaded before and it probably will not be the last time. LOL But I think it is just knowing who I am and what I want.

I wish you the best with your 20 something search.

I think talk of marriage should be put off until the appetizers are at least half way finished, then a nice tone is set for the main dish. That way if he's still able to eat ya know if there's a shot..if he can't even eat it's pretty much a wash and time to move on to another unsuspecting late middle aged man to complete us and fix our completely desperate and pitiful lives.

Late teens..golly TS, kinda pushing it a bit aye...
If you weren't a musician the youngster's wouldn't be so anxious anyway...I mean you are quite the stud muffin and all..these girls are wanting to get back at daddy so hanging out in bars and boinking musicians the same age as daddy is great revenge. I remember..it works too. winking

I say, do what ya gotta do..I'm just glad I have sons and not daughters. Then again if my 25 year old son was hanging out with a 48 year old woman I'd tell him to listen to her, he may actually learn something. So, lets just assume your teaching the girls some valuable life lessons. Thank you for you contribution to the education of our youth. drinker

TS, you mean I'm one year away from being middle aged?! laugh

I haven't been on any dates with men where the marriage and future plans discussion came up that quickly. However, I find it happens a lot here. Within a couple emails, they're talking about how they're looking for someone to get married to and wanting to know what I think. I don't know... I wouldn't even think of bringing that up right away before I've gotten to know them at all.

..I don't understand why so many of you women are upset, what so being a cougar is o.k,don't recall such an argument when an older lady wants to date a younger man..if i recall some of you may have given encouragement, but when it's a guy ..a different story unfolds...ah the usual double standard measure..personally i feel who someone dates providing they are consenting adults is their own business...as long as they are happy who is to say what the age difference should be as long as it's legal..is one's own opinion more important than other peoples happiness..from the looks of it some of you think so....noway

Sorry to see you being so harangued for expressing an opinion here. I understand what you're saying, and, other than some leeway on the parameters of "middle aged," I would tend to agree with you.

I have tried to circumvent the whole issue by making sure they already know my position on marriage/kids/etc., before I ever do meet them in person. Although that really hasn't helped much; they always seem to want to change me into my polar opposite regardless.

yep, me thinks it's the 32 being middle age that is of more concern...
a bit off with the numbers. Besides TS just does this to get everybody worked up anyway.
