The Earth spins because it formed in the accretion disk of a cloud of hydrogen that collapsed down from mutual gravity and needed to conserve its angular momentum. It continues to spin because of inertia.

The world goes round because early in the planet's history it was struck by a large mass on a glancing blow. That impact melted it and set the directional movment.
Since the planet is still in the process of cooling, the molten core maintains the movement. Space is nearly empty. There is no resistance to movement so the 'going round' continues until it is acted on by another force of equal or greater mass energy than the circular mass/energy. The world also goes round because of expectations and actions taken to assure the intended outcome based on those expectations. The world stops when the outcome is not that which was expected or intended. |

From what I remember from science class from school, you have these mice....and there are these spinning cages at the core of the Earth (they have a good AC plan down there)....and so these mice work 12 hour shifts running after cheese that they will never get, and as they run they help rotate the Earth. I swear it was like in 5th grade science class.
