While I agree that natural consequences are a good learning tool; allowing a preteen to stay up late and do as he pleases then do poorly the next day in school while you go to bed is lazy parenting.
Removeing a child from the presence of a family pet 24/7 is neither possible or teaching the child anything. Perhaps you have never seen the damage a dog can do to the tender flesh of a child's body but I would much rather my child learn from the much less permanent pain of a swat on the behind than multiple surgery's from a dog bite. That a child is placed in a gifted class does not mean they have learned to accept that there are boundries or authority in our lives that we have to submit to to be successful in this life. It is true children learn to make decisons by making decisions. But children that are made to believe that they get to make all their own decisions grow into adults who think their judgement is superior to their bosses and that usually computes to someone who defy's authority and can't keep a job. It is sad indeed when a pampered child finds his first submission to authority is when they flunk out of school or find a billy club upside their head when order to do something by a police officer. |

I tend to agree with the anology.
But unfortuneately people don't want to think they let someone "that dangerous" in their home life. They think a sexual preditor will have horns or something that will be obvious. That if he was going to rape her he would already done it. Or raped the girlfriend. She probably thinks she is giving him sex he will be satisfied. But it doesn't have anything to do with sex. When he does, and I really believe it is only a matter of time that he tries, they won't believe her. The sister will just say she is being unfair or trying to get more attention. If Jazz tries to defend herself they will say she hurt him. Bad situation. Jazz probably doesn't have a lot of choices about living anywhere else. |

Sometimes I think women cheat because;
1) They want to prove their husband does not control them. 2) It is the only way they can retaliate for being used or ignored. 3) It proves they are desireable when their husbands tell them they are not. 4) They got pregnant and married because they had to not because they wanted to. 5) They watch too much media that makes it look glamourouse. 6) They are bored. 7) They are forced into sexual situations so they compensate by picking their lover. 8) They are angry at a spouse over the treatment from inlaws. 9) They are angry that the spouse has "given" them a disabled child. 10) They are angry that they are saddled with childcare with out help. 11) They don't think the spouse will care. 12) They think the spouse will not live long enough to provide for them. Least that are some of the reasons I was told. |

I don't know what you call it but I think you should do what is good and right regardless if it comes back to you or not. I do think good acts tend to multiply themselves as much as selfish ones.

Why the hell do people think drugs are the answer to something like this?? All that does is postpone the feelings. They are still there when you come back down. I tend to agree with this thinking. I don't see how being high resolves anything. Sure estranges a lot of good people from your life and tends to bring loosers into it. Pills are rarely the answer on their own. Unless of course you have a chemical imbalance and your doctor prescibes something to balance things out. If your hormones, glucose levels, or seritonian levels are messed up there isn't a lot of sense in suffering for no reason. I am not real big on pain medications but severe chronic pain can really wear your mood down. Also not real good on your heart or other systems. |

If I am really bummed out it usually helps me to get out of the house and walk or garden a little. Seems fresh air always helps. If I carry a trash bag I can usually get a little exercise picking up trash.
Sometimes I will bake something. No matter who you go visit if you have goodies they will take a few minutes and visit. For and elderly neighbor or a young Mom with children it is a God send. I can always donate them somewhere. Our church has a shareing table. People donate baked goods to buy livestock for the poor in third world countries and the elderly or working parents buy them for small amounts. Just making raw cookie dough and stuffing it in the freezer makes it easier when someone calls or comes by at the last minute. If I get lonely almost always can find someone on line to chat with or leave and email for. Or I tend to get out my stationary box and write a few short notes to family and friends. My church bullentine always lists people to send encouragements to. I think USO will forward a letter of appreciation to sevice members. Volunteering always seems to perk me up. So many places you can just drop in and help. Usually takes participateing in and orientation but it is a good outlet to get away and make new friends. I tend to buy joke books or magazines. If I am feeling down it is a lot of the time boredom and they distract me. Humor seems to be catching so I will turn off the drama's on TV and watch the comedy channels. A lot of time when I feel down it is just being tired. I find if I change the bed sheets, take a bubble bath, and give my body a little pampering I can get a good nights sleep and the blues are gone the next day. |

It seems like you want to be liked but you are really falling on your own sword.
I would avoid trying to be funny. It is not helping and makes you sound aggressive. And your thinking disjointed. Putting up a picture is better than a blue box but all this one tells about you is you like the picture if you don't reference it. Pictures hopefully tell something about you. Where you live, what your interests are, if you like animals, and possibly in your case what your disability is, and what you look like. When you list interests think of things you would like to share with another person. Interests you could talk about. If you are and expert on something don't be a snob about it. Referenceing your disability and then not stateing what it is is like inviting and elephant in the room and pretending you can't see it. What people will assume is much worse than whatever it is. Insulting people who work; suggesting they don't think does not help your case. Since many Mingler's have disabilities it doesn't make you that exotic. That you have not had a normal interaction with a female; even a kiss in however long it was you said doesn't make people want to give you pity or contact. It is just too much information and sounds whiney. With HIV/AIDs and financial problems a lot of people haven't been sexually active. So what. You will make or break you profile by just telling what you are like day to day. What is routine. Where do you go when you go out. What would you like to share if you could get a email friendship going. YOu have to crawl before you can walk. Good Luck |

Maybe the good guys look too much like your family to be sexually appealing. If you are looking for a lover long distance it might be one of two things; you really like your life over all and really aren't all that eager to ditch it or you just feel another location will give you new challenges to master.

It is sad but seems like drugs are everywhere. With medical waste so expensive to handle it is getting more common that people dump it illegally. Give the kids a big HUG for being so grown up and reporting this important information. You must be very proud of them.

Respect is not taught through spanking, smacking, hitting,belting, yelling or whipping. All of the above teaches FEAR. Respect is not fear. Respect is taught, by being respectful. Respectful of the individual. Any form of domination from an adult to a child is ABUSE. I believe respect is a very mature abstract concept that young children do not have the capacity to internalize. They learn early however that actions have reactions. That certain behaviors have consequences. The mild physical pain of a spanking is a cosequence that is easily understood and less damageing than some natural consequences. Example little Joey knows after one swat that flopping on the dog is not a good thing to do. If he is allowed to repeat such behavior he may endure life long injuries from a dog bite. I do agree that smacking, hitting, belting, yelling, or whipping a child is entirely too extream a form of punishment to teach a child anything but fear and hatred of their abuser. However a child can learn there are limits that will come swiftly and consistently if they disobey certain boundries if spanking is properly applied. They learn and remember by association that certain behaviors are unacceptable. When they are older and experience the respect of others then you can help them get that concept. To say that any domination of a child is abuse seems incomrehensible to me. By the very nature of being cared for and making decisions for a child because they have neither the skill or the maturity to make their own decsions is a major responsibility of parenting. True domination should be benevolent and limited to what is necessary but I do not believe dominateing my child is against his best interests when he has neither the experience or knowledge to know what is best. Example it seems like domination to a preteen to insist that they go to bed when they think plopped in front of the tv is rest enough but most real parents know the child needs to be in bed asleep to do well and not be unbearable to be around when they are chronicly tired. |

What is sad is this creep has accomplished what he really wanted which was to establish he has power over these women and can see/do what he wants without any real punishment.
It would seem that for some reason he wants to humiliate the older sister. His actions clearly do that. Why she tolerates it is a mystery to me but maybe he contributes something that she is not willing to give up even if she only holds it superficially. Can only hope that this creep crosses the wrong person elsewhere and someone gives him the punishment he deserves. |

I think just be yourself. If you try to be something your not it will sound fake and be discovered anyway.
I don't think everyone expects something perfect or even above average. They want someone who is real. Who will make an effort. I do think if you are having a particularly bad day maybe you would want to avoid advertiseing that because that might be the only perspective a person sees of you and will form their opinion from just that. Things tend to live forever on line. |
